Corporate Governance

The overriding aim of corporate governance is to ensure the Group’s commitments to all its stakeholders: shareholders, customers, suppliers, creditors, society and employees.

The concept of "corporate governance" usually refers to the rules and structure established to make it possible to efficiently and systematically manage and control a limited liability company.

Essity applies the Swedish Code of Corporate Governance. Information about the code and the Swedish Corporate Governance Model is found on The Swedish Corporate Governance Board's web page.

Corporate governance involves several distinct corporate bodies and functions, among which the Annual General Meeting, the Board of Directors and the President are the most central.
