Each year Essity collects a large amount of environmental, social and economic data.
Essity receives numerous of surveys and are invited to participate in many reports. We try to accommodate all stakeholders questions as far as possible but believe that it is essential to be transparent and disclose this information publicly. That is why Essity’s extensive external disclosure of information is found in Annual and sustainability reports, Sustainability in Brief and here on essity.com. With all requests we unfortunately do not have the capacity to answer and reply to all enquiries.
Essity operates an extensive system of gathering and presenting environmental data for individual production facilities and entire business units. The Resource Management System (RMS) allows us to analyse data describing how the company uses energy, water, transport and raw materials, and to monitor waste and emission levels.
The RMS data is used for internal control and monitoring, external benchmarking and as a tool for evaluating acquisitions and major investments.
We report in accordance with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines, G4 Core. The GRI indicators cover Essity manufacturing operations and most office locations, but do not include centralised corporate functions.
