Our work with the New Zealand Gut Foundation

It’s time to ‘Review Your Poo’, New Zealand! Knowing what is normal for you – and actively seeking medical advice if something isn’t quite right – is key to the early detection and treatment of a wide range of bowel issues.

To tackle this tricky topic, Essity brand Purex is proud to be a major sponsor of the New Zealand Gut Foundation to support the Review Your Poo campaign and World Microbiome Day promotion.

The Review Your Poo campaign raises awareness through supermarket pop-ups and giveaways, appearances from the famous Purex Rolly dog, and a travelling Portaloo painted by well-known street artist, Jacob Yikes.

“We are really trying to capture people’s attention with this eye-catching campaign because we want all New Zealanders to be more aware of their gut and bowel health,” says Gut Foundation General Manager Margaret Fitzgerald.

Essity’s Senior Brand Manager Purex, Donna Wafer, says she is proud the company has aligned with the Gut Foundation to educate the public in a campaign that can help so many New Zealanders.

“We were extremely alarmed to learn the statistics around bowel cancer in New Zealand, so we decided to draw attention to the importance of your gut health. It was a natural fit, reviewing your poo and Purex toilet paper!”

Having the famed Purex Rolly dog join the campaign is a big win for creating some fun and engagement. Alongside the cuteness factor for children, Rolly’s appearances are a nostalgic trip down memory lane for adults, who remember the iconic Purex television ads from the 1990s.
