For the second year in a row, Essity has been recognized by WEConnect International as a 2026 Impact Sourcing Top Global Champion. Essity is one of only 24 companies in the world recognized for advancing impact sourcing through inclusive procurement practices.
The recognition highlights organizations that demonstrate leadership in sourcing strategies and create opportunities for women-owned businesses and other small and medium enterprises to compete for contracts. In doing so, they help build more resilient and innovative supply chains. According to WEConnect International, the award celebrates companies that are helping to expand economic opportunity through their procurement activities.
Why inclusive procurement matters - For Essity, the recognition reflects its continued commitment to making supplier inclusion part of how the company creates value globally. By engaging a broader supplier base, Essity aims to strengthen supply chain resilience, support sustainable business growth and foster innovation.
The award is particularly significant at a time when companies are balancing competitiveness, efficiency and long-term value creation in a challenging business environment. The company continues to embed inclusive procurement practices as part of its broader approach to responsible business and sustainable growth.
Making progress on inclusive procurement and supplier development – Over the past year, Essity has strengthened inclusive procurement both inside and outside the organization. More than 160 procurement leaders have been trained in inclusive leadership within Essity, while supplier engagement has increasingly focused on capability building, including conversations around suppliers’ own inclusion practices and continued development.
These efforts reflect Essity’s ambition to use procurement not only to broaden participation, but also to support a more capable and competitive supplier base across its global operations.
“Supplier inclusion helps us build a stronger and more resilient supply chain while creating value for our business and society. This recognition reflects the progress we have made and our ambition to continue advancing inclusive procurement as part of Essity’s sustainable growth,” said Jessica Nordlinder, Vice-President Procurement at Essity.
As Essity continues to work with partners and suppliers to advance inclusive procurement across its global operations, the Group’s continued recognition as a Top Global Champion underscores the company’s efforts to promote supplier inclusion while creating business value.
