Greenhouse gas emissions

Reducing emissions is essential to addressing climate change and supporting a more resilient future. We work to cut greenhouse gas emissions across our operations and value chain, guided by science-based targets and a clear ambition to reach net zero by 2050. As demand for hygiene and health solutions grows, lowering our climate impact is critical to delivering solutions that are both competitive and sustainable over time.

What we do

We reduce emissions across our operations and value chain through energy efficiency, lower-emission and renewable energy, resource-efficient production, and collaboration with suppliers, logistics partners, and customers. Our work includes improving production efficiency, modernizing and optimizing operations, supporting suppliers' climate action, and advancing lower-carbon materials and circular solutions where they can deliver meaningful impact. We also integrate climate considerations into procurement, production, and innovation so that emissions reduction is embedded in how we run our business and develop our solutions.

Outcome

Lower emissions and improved efficiency strengthen operational resilience and reduce exposure to energy and carbon-related risks. At the same time, our actions support lower-carbon hygiene and health solutions and help create more sustainable outcomes across the value chain.

Our target is a 35% reduction in absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, compared with 2016, for both Scope 1 and 2 emissions and the most significant Scope 3 emission categories. The reported 2025 outcome is a 27% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 15% reduction in Scope 3 emissions.
