Waste

Reducing waste is an important part of improving resource efficiency and supporting a more circular economy. We work to reduce waste in production, increase material and energy recovery, and improve resource use across our operations and value chain. Waste is not only an environmental issue. It is also closely linked to efficiency, cost, and the effectiveness with which we use materials that have already entered our systems.

Recycle Waste

What we do

We reduce waste across production by improving material efficiency and increasing recovery of materials and energy. We also advance circular approaches that help reduce post-use waste and improve how materials flow through our business and beyond. This includes working to transform waste into value, scaling recovery where possible, and supporting more resource-efficient production systems that align with our broader circularity ambitions.

Outcome

Reduced waste, better use of resources, and lower environmental impact, while supporting more efficient operations and stronger circular performance. This helps reduce unnecessary material loss and supports progress toward more resource-efficient production systems.

Our target is that 100% of production waste will be subject to material or energy recovery by 2030. The reported 2025 outcome is 72%.
