Reducing the environmental impact in the supply chain through innovation and continuous improvement, partnering with highly capable and responsible suppliers with an active risk mindset and high ethical standards. Driving efficiency and improving quality by leveraging data, analytic tools, and digital solutions, ensuring goods and services are supplied on time and with the right quality to worldwide manufacturing and business sites within the Essity Group.
The Global Procurement team is part of Essity’s Global Supply Chain organization, responsible for sourcing, production, technology, logistics and distribution across Essity’s product categories. We cover the majority of purchases needed to put Essity’s products on the market, including direct materials such as pulp, recovered paper, super absorbents, non-woven, gauze, plastic films, fiber-based packaging and chemicals, as well as indirect products and services such as machines and equipment, corporate services and marketing.
Global Procurement aims to be a trusted business partner to our Suppliers, offering our Suppliers to be an important partner at the forefront of product technology and service development within the health and hygiene sector, with strong and well‑established brands on the global markets. Together we improve performance and generate value by developing innovative and sustainable raw materials and products and securing supply‑chain optimization, enabling business growth by improvements in manufacturing methods, quality assurance regimes, and supply chain processes.
By strengthening diversity, equity, and inclusion across our supplier base.
At Essity, inclusive procurement is a strategic lever for sustainable growth. By strengthening diversity, equity, and inclusion across our supplier base, we aim to maximize economic, social, and environmental value for our business, our partners, and the communities we serve.
We believe that inclusive supplier selection is a core part of responsible business conduct and a driver of innovation, resilience and long‑term value creation. That is why we actively work to ensure our supplier base reflects the diversity of Essity’s customers and end‑users worldwide. We continuously strengthen and improve inclusion within our procurement practices and supplier relationships, and we value collaboration with a broad spectrum of suppliers.
Our commitment is anchored in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), supporting a more inclusive, sustainable, and circular society.
To strengthen access to inclusive sourcing opportunities globally and locally, Essity partners with established advocacy organizations such as the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and WEConnect International.
NMSDC serves as a growth engine for NMSDC-certified minority businesses and creates opportunities to connect MBEs to hundreds of America’s largest corporate members wishing to build relationships with trusted minority-owned companies.
WEConnect International is the leading global nonprofit, identifying, educating, registering, and certifying businesses that are at least 51% women-owned, managed, and controlled, delivering business solutions at scale through certification, education, and high-impact connections.
