Mandatory reporting standards

Essity is committed to transparent and reliable sustainability reporting. By reporting in accordance with applicable standards and requirements, we provide stakeholders with insight into our environmental, social, and governance performance, and how we manage sustainability-related impacts, risks, and opportunities.

Man Woman Office Desk

Essity reports in accordance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), using the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

This provides a consistent, comparable, and decision-useful view of our environmental, social, and governance performance, including how we identify, assess, and manage impacts, risks, and opportunities.

Our sustainability disclosures are subject to independent external assurance, providing stakeholders with confidence in the reliability of the reported information. Internal governance, risk management and control processes support accurate reporting and follow‑up.

EU taxonomy

Essity reports in line with the EU Taxonomy, the EU’s classification system for environmentally sustainable economic activities.

We disclose the share of turnover, capital expenditure, and operating expenditure assessed for eligibility and alignment with the EU Taxonomy, based on applicable criteria and current regulatory scope. For detailed tables and methodology, see the relevant sections of the report.
