About the Role
Essity Global Sourcing Team is searching for a Technical Material Buyer for our Central region. This position will be located in Middletown, OH.
As part of the Global Sourcing Team, Operational Sourcing is responsible for integrating Strategic Sourcing solutions into the manufacturing sites falling within the Hub as well as driving cost reduction initiatives for “regional” materials & services. Further to this, Operational Sourcing should work with Strategic Sourcing, Product Supply and all relevant functions to support/lead cost in use initiatives across all categories of spend (Global & Regional). What You Will Do
- Work closely with Strategic Sourcing & site management to implement agreed “global” material group sourcing strategies into factories within the hub;
- Own, develop & implement sourcing strategies and cost savings initiatives for Hub related materials and services;
- Continuously develop and enhance a roadmap of material, NPMS & services savings utilizing a TCO approach to include negotiation, VA/VE, Design to Cost, etc.;
- Develop a key understanding of supply market trends and forces impacting the business and develop plans to exploit opportunities;
- Work with suppliers to introduce innovation to Essity cross functional teams to drive further value to the business and to be an industry leader to outperform competitors and market forces;
- Work closely with key suppliers to ensure optimum quality, service and cost to enhance Essity’s competitive advantage in the market;
- Work cross-functionally across plant, hub and functions to plan and drive value from e-sourcing sourcing events (E-Auctions, E-Tenders);
- Ensure compliance to agreed sourcing processes and transactions that are aligned to Internal Audit and Internal Controls;
- Coordinate and drive workshops & benchmarking exercises within hub to align and implement best practices within assigned supply stream responsibilities;
- Work closely with Sourcing Excellence teams to support digital transformation and artificial intelligence;
- Ensure effective communication across the Hub Sourcing Team to ensure stakeholders are fully informed of all market developments, strategies and key activity status.
Stakeholder Management & Alignment
- Attend regular cross-functional meetings as required to report results, advise opportunities and support all initiatives;
- Develop excellent stakeholder relationships within all functions including Product Supply, Innovation, Commercial, etc;
- Ensure full alignment and transparency of cost savings initiatives regarding budgets, forecasts, actuals, etc.
System compliance
- Ensure all Sourcing projects are maintained and reviewed on a regular basis with Sourcing colleagues (ARIBA – Sourcing Projects Tracker);
- Ensure all contracts are maintained on a regular basis, utilizing the ARIBA contract Management system;
- Carryout regular spend analysis to identify cost saving opportunities, identify master data errors and correct them;
- Ensure all pricing related to contracts is maintained in SAP ARIBA/SAP ERP material master, info records, vendor master etc;
- Work closely with Sourcing Excellence team and Sourcing Analysts to continually upgrade and improve the performance of our systems;
- Participate in regular reviews of the Sourcing KPI’s, ensuring timely follow up of key actions.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or technical field and/or related Professional Qualification (eg CIPS, NEVI, etc.). Experience in lieu of education will be considered;
- Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience;
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in operations and/or manufacturing preferred;
- Technical skills including strong negotiation skills; excellent knowledge of operations management and supply chain processes in a large organization;
- Strong analytical abilities with excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
- Persistent drive for results, utilizing sound project management, organizational and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to influence a variety of stakeholders, functions, and organizational levels in a matrix organization;
- Knowledge of effective technology driven sourcing processes;
- Experience using SAP ERP, SAP S4/HANA, SAP ARIBA preferred
- Power Bi experience advantageous.
