At Essity we believe that the work to fulfill the UN Sustainable Development Goals will make the world a better place and we have chosen to prioritize goals 3, 5, 6, 12, 13 and 15, which are most relevant to our business and where we have substantial expertise and can make a contribution.
At Essity, we are dedicated to improving well-being through leading hygiene and health solutions. We contribute to better lives for individuals and communities around the world. We also strive to minimize our environmental impact, and are determined to develop products and solutions that use less resources and fit into a circular society.
To meet our ambitions and create sustainable value, we rest on three platforms. We are committed to be caring and daring, and act boldly on social issues that others fear to champion. We aim to create more value using less resources. Finally, we innovate and design products and solutions that fit into a circular society.
We minimize our environmental impact by making more from less, and innovate to develop products and solutions that fit into a circular society. By acting responsibly in our business we can make a difference - by ourselves and together with others.
We recently published our second integrated Annual and Sustainability report, reflecting how deeply embedded sustainability is within our business. Building on this, we have now released the second version of 'Sustainability in brief', which gives a comprehensive overview of sustainability at Essity.
External monitoring of Essity's sustainability work is constantly increasing. Fund managers' and investors' choice of strong sustainability performance companies is often based on external indexes and rankings.
Essity, in partnership with The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC), has launched a joint research report on hygiene practices worldwide, Hygiene and Health Report 2018-2019. The initiative was established by Essity in 2008 to raise awareness of the connection between hygiene, health and well-being.
