About the Role
As Strategy & Business Development Director within Essity’s Personal Care Business Unit, you will lead the strategic agenda across categories, geographies, and functions. Acting as a trusted partner to senior leadership, you will shape long-term direction while ensuring priorities are translated into clear, executable plans.
This role combines high-level strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You will operate as a central integrator in a global, matrix organization, connecting strategy, execution, and governance. With a holistic view of the business, you will coordinate strategic initiatives, support M&A activities, and ensure alignment across the organization, enabling focus, speed, and disciplined execution.
What You Will Do
Strategy Development: Lead the development and continuous evolution of the Personal Care strategy in alignment with Essity’s corporate framework
Strategic Integration: Ensure alignment between strategy, execution, and key business processes across categories and functions
Project Leadership: Drive and coordinate strategic projects, including growth opportunities, portfolio development, and new business models
Business Development & M&A: Support cross-functional initiatives and play a key role in M&A activities, from opportunity assessment to strategic fit and due diligence
Stakeholder Partnership: Act as a “chief of staff” style partner to senior leaders, ensuring strategic priorities are well coordinated and clearly communicated
Risk & Performance: Drive business risk assessments and partner with key stakeholders to define, track, and follow up on strategic KPIs
Ways of Working: Continuously improve collaboration and ways of working across the global organization
Who You Are
University degree or background in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field
Extensive experience in strategy, business development, or management consulting, including work in global roles within a matrix organization
Strong analytical and business acumen, with experience across categories, supply chain understanding, and exposure to M&A processes
Influential and collaborative, with excellent stakeholder management, communication, and change leadership skills, balancing strategic perspective with hands-on execution
Proven ability to lead and elevate strategy processes in a complex, global organization.
Structured, results-oriented and able to manage ambiguity
Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage
