About the Role
As a Global Procurement Manager, you will develop and implement the global category strategy for Paper Making and Tissue Converting Machines and Equipment within Essity’s Consumer Goods and Professional Hygiene business. Based in Altopascio (Lucca Area), you will execute long‑term procurement strategies that ensure supply security, competitiveness, and sustainable value creation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and technical experts to drive innovation, cost efficiency, and best‑in‑class supplier performance across our global operations.
What You Will Do
- Category Strategy Development: Build and execute the procurement strategy for the assigned machinery and equipment category to secure long‑term competitiveness.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strategic supplier partnerships, driving performance, innovation, and seamless commercial collaboration.
- Market & Cost Analysis: Monitor cost drivers, benchmark pricing, and identify opportunities for innovation, best cost saving, and quality improvements.
- Contract Lifecycle Ownership: Manage the full contract process using Essity’s standards, ensuring compliance and commercial excellence.
- Supplier Qualification & Portfolio Management: Collaborate with SQM to onboard suppliers aligned with external and internal requirements, maintaining a strong and competitive supplier base.
- RFX & TCO Optimization: Lead RFX processes and negotiations to secure the best total cost of ownership for machinery and equipment.
- Performance & Risk Assessment: Evaluate supplier performance, including financial risk analysis, and secure access to new technologies and materials.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in engineering, economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional experience in procurement or commercial roles, ideally with machinery suppliers or in the paper‑making machinery industry.
- Strong technical understanding of machinery and equipment, including cost drivers and supplier markets.
- Strong negotiation, communication, analytical thinking, stakeholder management, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
