About the Role
Essity is a global leader in tissue products and hygiene and health solutions. As part of our ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability, we are implementing a broad digitalization and optimization program focused on the maintenance management of our production assets. The objective is to improve operational efficiency by defining the optimal maintenance strategy for the asset and enhancing the overall sustainability of our operations. For our Porcari Plant (Lucca) we are looking for a motivated candidate to join us for a 6‑month extracurricular internship. The project involves the definition and implementation of an integrated maintenance system for the converting production line, enabling improved maintenance management, proactive preventive planning, and reliable tracking of technical interventions to support operational excellence.
What You Will Do
Conduct FMEA analysis on key converting line equipment
Define corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance strategies to improve asset lifecycle management
Analyze equipment reliability
Keep maintenance data updated in SAP PM (Maintenance Plan, Task list)
Test and validate the implemented maintenance activities in collaboration with maintenance and production teams
Support and train operators in the use of the system
Analyze maintenance KPI
Propose continuous improvement and optimization initiatives
Who You Are
A student or recent graduate in Mechanical Engineering or Management Engineering (preferred)
Interested in industrial maintenance and manufacturing environments
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem‑solving mindset
Team‑oriented, with good communication skills and the ability to interact with technical and operational teams
Proactive, curious, and willing to take initiative
Strong listening skills and a quality‑driven approach
Result‑oriented and committed to delivering high‑quality work
Availability to start the internship between April and May
