Are you an experienced indirect tax professional ready to shape tax strategy across a diverse international region? We’re looking for an Indirect Tax Business Partner Nordic, Baltics and Benelux to lead all indirect tax matters for the region and ensure strong governance, compliance, and strategic impact across the business.
About the Role
This is a key business partner role for a highly skilled indirect tax manager who thrives in a dynamic, cross-functional environment and wants to influence both operational excellence and strategic decisions.
What You Will Do
Manage all indirect tax matters and respond to tax-related questions across the region.
Analyse transactions, contracts, and supply chains to identify indirect tax risks and optimize opportunities.
Monitor changes in indirect tax legislation and case law to ensure timely and appropriate actions.
Provide proactive indirect tax support to Business Units, Global Functions, and Finance stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with the indirect tax reporting team to ensure accurate and compliant filings.
Ensure full compliance with indirect tax reporting, registrations, filings, and payments.
Carry out Key Internal Controls (KICs) and monitor the effectiveness of controls related to indirect tax.
Draft and maintain regional indirect tax guidelines, instructions, and documentation.
Manage and coordinate indirect tax audits, disputes, and inquiries with local tax authorities.
Support matters raised during external and internal audits.
Lead region-specific indirect tax projects and participate (or lead) relevant global initiatives.
Implement group tax strategy and ensure alignment with global indirect tax frameworks.
Drive improvements in indirect tax processes, systems, and controls.
Develop and deliver indirect tax training for non-tax stakeholders across the region.
Promote a culture of tax awareness and compliance.
Who You Are
Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in Taxation (e.g. LL.M. in Tax Law) or equivalent.
8–12+ years of progressive experience in indirect tax.
3–5+ years at managerial, regional, or leadership level.
Deep knowledge of VAT and other indirect taxes across multiple jurisdictions.
Strong ability to interpret and apply international and local indirect tax laws and case law.
Experience analysing supply chains, business models, and complex transactions for tax implications.
Proven ability to manage indirect tax audits, disputes, and authority interactions.
Familiarity with SAP and tax engines such as Vertex or ONESOURCE, experience with tools like Alteryx is considered a plus
Demonstrated ability to align regional practices with group tax strategy.
Strong project leadership skills; able to drive process and system implementations.
Ability to persuade, educate, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong writing and documentation skills.
Experience improving tax processes and internal controls (including KICs).
