Regional Sales Manager - Professional Hygiene (Mid Atlantic)

About the Role

Essity is looking for an experienced Regional Sales Manager to lead a sales region in the United States, responsible for achieving sales growth, retention, and profitability targets. This role involves executing the business strategy for Professional Hygiene, collaborating closely with the Sales Director, Commercial Planning team, National Distribution leads, Segment leads, Virtual Sales, and Key Account Managers. The Regional Sales Manager will develop and maintain relationships with end customers and distribution partners, implement Go-to-Market strategies, and uphold best practice standards to elevate the success of the sales force team.

This will be a remote position responsible for covering the Mid Atlantic. The ideal candidate should live within the geographic region or near a major US international airport with ability to travel often.

What You Will Do

  • Sales Plan Implementation: Secure implementation and goal achievement of agreed sales plan from the Sales Director and Commercial team. Act as a thought leader in market knowledge, segment, end customer, and distribution partnerships.

  • Relationship Building: Build and develop strong relationships with end customers and distribution partners. Ensure clear communication and follow customer marketing directives and overall BU directives. Negotiate and own top-to-top relationships with end customers and distribution partners. Create business plans for end customers and distribution partners.

  • Sales and Financial Management: Lead sales forecasts, business reviews, financial forecasts, and achieve agreed Sales KPIs. P&L accountability for the area of responsibility according to the agreed annual budget. Secure optimal go-to-market business setups, including hygiene solutions and strategic product mix. Ensure pricing levels align with strategic and local benchmarks.

  • Brand Positioning: Position Essity and TORK as the partner of choice and preferred brand with end customers and distribution partners.

  • Internal Collaboration: Build and develop strong relationships and collaboration within sales and related functional teams

  • SalesForce Development: Actively develop the sales force competence and secure talent pipeline succession. Ensure high competence levels in sales techniques, analytics, leadership, product and hygiene solutions, and customer and organizational administration. Lead the organization according to Essity's Leadership platform, "Leading People." Develop the sales force to achieve maximum efficiency for North America Sales and Marketing.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree desired, preferably in business or sales & marketing (experience in lieu of education considered).

  • 10+ years of proven successful sales and business leadership.

  • Ability to travel overnight 40% of the time to domestic locations.

  • Proven experience in Sales B2B.

  • Prior experience in a matrixed organization and cross-functional team atmosphere.

  • Demonstrated capability to understand growth strategies and translate them into practical sales plans and best practices.

  • Excellent business acumen and sound sales financial understanding.

  • Strong negotiation skills, able to independently negotiate with top customers.

  • Digital savviness, with experience in CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong executional skills, important to follow through and execute on business intent.

  • Excellent leadership impact, ability to coach, develop, and challenge team members.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships at all levels.

  • Ability to set goals and drive to achieve them, both personally and for direct reports.

  • Strong drive for results and sense of urgency.

  • Confidence in own ability to succeed and a winning attitude.
