Materials Enginner - Initiatives

About the Role

As a Materials Engineer – Initiatives, you will lead the research, development, and implementation of new materials and products for our key categories (toilet paper, kitchen towels, and related products). From concept to launch, you will ensure technical, functional, economic, and sustainability feasibility, working in close collaboration with local and global new product development teams.

What You Will Do

  • Research and identify innovative materials with potential applications in hygiene and consumer products.

  • Design and develop new products, ensuring technical, functional, and cost viability.

  • Implement technical validation processes and performance tests to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements (FSC, ISO, etc.).

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including TPM, Quality, Production, Marketing, and R&D at local and global levels.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous innovation.

  • Document technical specifications, test results, and development processes for new materials and products.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (degree and license required).

  • Proven experience in product or material development within the paper or consumer goods industry.

  • Solid understanding of hygiene, safety, environmental, and sustainability standards (FSC, ISO, or equivalent).

  • Intermediate to advanced technical English to collaborate with global teams.

  • Strong technical knowledge of paper machine processes and conversion.

  • Analytical thinker with creativity, innovation mindset, project management skills, and the ability to communicate technical information effectively to different audiences.
